The Professional Convention Management Association's Education Conference opened Monday evening in Baltimore. The show is co-located with the inaugural AIBTM, The Americas Meetings & Events Exhibition, which begins today at the Baltimore Convention Center. PCMA has more than 600 total registrants, 64 percent more than the conference drew in Montreal last year, according to a source. Figures for AIBTM have not yet been released. This evening, four industry icons will be inducted into the Convention Industry Council Hall of Leaders: Sandy Angus, chairman of Montgomery Worldwide; Fay Beauchine, president of business loyalty, Carlson Marketing; Christian Mutschlechner, director of the Vienna Convention Bureau; and Cliff Wallace, managing director of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
