Association management company SmithBucklin Corp. today announced the acquisition of The France Foundation Inc., provider of accredited continuing medical education (CME) in the United States. The France Foundation will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of SmithBucklin and will retain its brand name and headquarters location in Old Lyme, Conn. Founded in 1999, The France Foundation specializes in curriculum-based education aimed at providing learners with the opportunity to improve their performance as health-care providers. In 2010, the foundation received accreditation with commendation as a provider of CME by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. Founded in 1949, Chicago-based SmithBucklin provides full-service management and outsourcing services to trade associations, professional societies, technology user groups, corporations, government entities and other nonprofit organizations.
