The Global Business Travel Association wrapped up its annual convention last Wednesday in Denver, with the newly elected board of directors announcing the organization’s new president and CEO. Jim McMullan, global travel manager of Research Triangle Institute, succeeded Craig Banikowski, who has transitioned to chairman. GBTA’s new vice president is a former president of the association, Kevin Maguire, CCTE, GLP, the travel manager for intercollegiate athletics for the University of Texas at Austin. Both candidates ran unopposed and will serve two-year terms. They were elected by the association’s Direct members, who are travel buyers. The Allied members, or suppliers, elected Doug Payne, senior vice president of ALTOUR, to be the Allied Member Director at Large. Scott Solombrino, president and CEO of Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network, was named president of the Allied Leadership Council, while Joe Carino Jr., president and CEO of Carino Hotels and Resorts, was named vice president of the Allied Leadership Council. All will serve two-year terms.
