The profession of meeting planning has finally won the ultimate measure of respect: It has made it onto a list of the 10 most stressful jobs in the nation, namely the just-released 2012 Job Stress Report from job-search portal CareerCast.com (for the full report, go here: bit.ly/zfXhuK). Okay, it's only number six on the list, under the title of "event coordinator," but as the new year promises rising room rates, more difficult airlift and likely unrest in many major international destinations, we're confident we can rise in the ranks by 2013. Here are the top 10, with average income in parentheses:

1. Enlisted military soldier ($35,580).
2. Firefighter ($45,250)
3. Airline pilot ($103,210)
4. Military general ($196,300)
5. Police officer ($53,540)
6. Event coordinator ($45,260)
7. Public relations executive ($91,810)
8. Corporate executive–senior ($165,830)
9. Photojournalist ($40,000)
10. Taxi driver ($22,440)
