Truly savvy planners know
that one of the crucial characteristics of a potential destination city, along with transportation, room inventory and meeting space, is the price of a club sandwich. We're talking about the classic fillings -- bacon, poached chicken, lettuce, tomato, hard-boiled eggs, mayonnaise and Dijon mustard -- set in two layers inside three slices of toasted bread. The enterprising folks at recently decided that some research was called for in this area, and thus the Global Club Sandwich Index was born.
