Black and white signJoy Hall Bryant, a program manager for the Texas Department of Information Resources, creates her own black-and-white signs when the budget doesn't allow for professionally made signage. After creating them in PowerPoint (change the paper size to 24 by 36 inches), take the documents on a USB drive to a printing center at any major office supply store. Most will print black and white on 24-by-36-inch paper for about $4 each. Bryant recommends asking for "engineering prints," which don't always appear on price lists.
