El Dorado RoyaleYou've earned the rays. Mexico’s 639-suite El Dorado Royale, a Spa Resort, by Karisma, just a half-hour south of Cancun, provides for sunny beachfront getaways with over-the-top enticements like swim-up infinity pool casita suites.

Riad el FennMarrakech expressed. The 18-room Riad el Fenn, a traditional Moroccan townhome in Marrakech, was converted in 2002 into a languid urban retreat. Private nooks abound within the hotel’s meter-thick walls, while the roof terrace floats above the city with a rose garden, daybeds, a plunge pool and views of the mosque.

Beachside Resort and Conference CenterThe sumptuous also rises. Key West, Fla., has long had a ramshackle, anything-goes rep, which is why writers like Hemingway favored the place -- but it’s getting a shot of luxury this spring, when the 222-room Beachside Resort & Conference Center, with a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico, has its grand opening. The resort will offer 6,000 square feet of meeting space.

Fairmont Kea LaniLush luxe. If Hawaii’s verdant rainforests, forbidding volcanoes and voluptuous spirit aren’t enough of a draw, consider the 450-room Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui, where the white-sand Polo Beach and 22 surrounding tropical acres create a virtual cradle of contentment.
