Approximately 400 people attended ASAE and the Center for Association Leadership's Global Summit on Social Responsibility at the new Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in Maryland last week, with another 400 people participating virtually, either online or at satellite sites around the world. The conference was a call to action for associations to join forces, to identify opportunities to affect positive change and to implement or advance socially responsible practices. The three-day event was effectively a brainstorming opportunity for attendees, who discussed various ways associations could partner to achieve goals unattainable by an organization acting alone. ASAE now is developing ways to continue the conversation and advance some of the ideas generated at the conference. A recap of the event is available on ASAE's blog,
