Suncadia Resort, which sits on 6,400 acres in Cle Elum, Wash., 80 miles east of Seattle, announced on Monday the grand opening of its 254-room Lodge at Suncadia. The lodge has a restaurant, lounge and coffee bar as well as the 18,000-square-foot Suncadia Club Swim & Fitness Center. This summer, the 9,600-square-foot luxury Glade Spring Spa will open. Recreational options at the all-seasons resort include golf, hiking, mountain biking, ice-skating and cross-country skiing. The Lodge at Suncadia has 20,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, while the Inn at Suncadia offers 5,000 square feet of meeting space and 18 guest rooms and suites.

The Sheraton Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs, Colo., has closed for a $20 million renovation of all guest rooms, public areas and restaurants. The 191 rooms are being redone in the first phase and will reopen in June. At the same time, the Morningside suites and East Tower rooms will be transformed into 45 two- and three-bedroom villas. The Sheraton Steamboat Golf Course is being renamed the Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club and is being played as 17 holes, with one hole closed at all times for renovation. The property has a 20,000-square-foot conference center and two restaurants.

The Las Vegas Planning Commission is considering a proposal to develop a 61-story, 2,500-room hotel downtown, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Developers of the proposed property, which is referred to in one document as the Grand Central Hotel, are seeking approval for a 260,000-square-foot convention center and more than 13,000 square feet of retail space at the facility. The site, at Charleston Boulevard and Grand Central Parkway, was previously slated for a high-rise condo, but that project fell through in 2006. The Las Vegas Planning Commission did not respond to a request for comment.

Kor Hotel Group has announced plans to build its first property in New York City. The 168-room Viceroy New York at Hudson Square in lower Manhattan will open in 2010 and will occupy the top 12 floors of an office and retail complex. The hotel will feature a rooftop terrace, an outdoor pool, a lounge and more than 9,000 square feet of meeting space.

The 200-room Hilton Melbourne Beach (Fla.) Oceanfront Hotel unveiled a multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion this week. The hotel added a new 82-room tower with 2,500 square feet of top-floor event space, giving the property a total of 9,000 square feet of meeting and event space. A fitness center was added as well.

The 305-room Hotel Denver Tech Center has reopened as the Doubletree Denver Tech Center, following a $15 million renovation. All rooms now have free wireless Internet access and 37-inch LCD TVs. The property offers 20,000 square foot of event space, including the 6,600-square-foot Citrus Ballroom.
