Norwegian Cruise Lines has increased its fuel supplement charges from $7 per person, per day, to $9 per person, per day on any cruise booked on or after May 1. The $9 surcharge will apply to the first and second person in a stateroom; the third and fourth passengers will pay $4 each per day.

Royal Caribbean International revealed more details last week about its new 5,400-passenger Project Genesis ship, to launch in late 2009. Plans call for the center of the ship to resemble New York City's Central Park, with a football field-sized area of gardens with cafes, bars and entertainment scattered throughout. The ship also will have the first moving bar at sea, Rising Tide, which will go up and down like a slow elevator between three decks above the Central Park area.
