Carnival Corp. is raising fuel surcharges for passengers from $5 to $7 per guest, per day, on all new bookings made on or after April 21 for sailings on Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, Princess Cruises, Holland America, Cunard Line and the Yachts of Seabourn. The first and second guests in each cabin will pay $7 per day, not to exceed $98 per cruise, and the third, fourth and fifth guests will pay $2 per day, not to exceed $28 per cruise. The fuel hike comes about a week after Carnival Corp. was ordered by the Florida attorney general to repay $40 million to passengers who paid fuel surcharges after they booked their cruises in 2007.
