The nonprofit Washington D.C. Convention & Tourism Corp., responsible for managing and marketing D.C. as a convention and tourist destination, is tired of its long moniker. The agency announced that, as part of a new branding strategy, it will be called Destination D.C.

The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau will roll out its new branding effort -- "Louisiana's Other Side" -- in an event held on Thursday at the Shreveport Convention Center. A redesigned website (shreveport-bossier.org) is part of the new branding push. Also rebranding in Louisiana is the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, which, for marketing purposes, is now the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.
