The 428-room Hyatt Regency Trinidad, in capital city Port of Spain, has opened the first Hyatt Pure spa in the Caribbean, a 9,000-square-foot affair called Spa Esencia. All spa suites have private showers and vanities, with views over the island's Gulf of Paria. The treatments were developed with an eye to Trinidad's indigenous peoples, minerals and flora. The Hyatt Regency Trinidad has 43,000 square feet of space for meetings and events.

Orlando-based hotelier Richard Kessler of Kessler Enterprise Inc. has announced plans to build a 75-room boutique hotel in Savannah, Ga. The Bohemian Hotel at the Savannah Riverfront will open in spring 2009 and include two restaurants, a fitness center and a boardroom.

The 95-room Oceano Hotel and Spa in Half Moon Bay, Calif., 25 miles south of San Francisco, celebrated its grand opening last week. The property offers 8,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 4,400-square-foot ballroom and attached atrium, plus three smaller rooms accommodating 80, 50 and 14 people, respectively. The hotel's spa, an adjacent restaurant and a 50,000-square-foot retail complex still are under construction but are projected to open this summer.

The 336-room Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh has completed a $4 million guest room renovation. New carpeting, wall coverings and drapes were added to every room, in addition to upgraded bathroom lighting and shower fixtures. Flat-panel HD televisions and iHome docking stations are now standard in all rooms. The hotel's 20,000-square-foot ballroom also has been refurbished.
