The 124-room Regent Bal Harbour in Bal Harbour Village, Fla., opened Monday. The 18-story, beachfront hotel offers a 10,000-square-foot Guerlain Spa with 15 treatment rooms, the 1 Bleu restaurant and 3,700 square feet of meeting space. The property also offers a fitness center, a pool and a 3,500-square-foot presidential suite with a private theater and media room.

Trying to give meeting planners more online control of their events, Hilton Hotels Corp. has launched Personalized Group Web Pages, a complimentary service allowing planners to customize a web page for meetings that include sleeping rooms at any of 2,400 of Hilton's North American hotels, including Embassy Suites, Conrad, Doubletree and Waldorf=Astoria. Once the event is booked, planners simply visit and inform a Hilton representative there of what they would like featured on their group web page, which can include two photos, maps, itineraries, schedules and a link to book a room in the event's room block.

Officials at the rising Mandarin Oriental, Boston, scheduled to open this July, are unsure whether a small fire in the building on Monday will affect the construction schedule. The blaze in the fitness area affected no hotel rooms or residential units in the building, according to a statement issued by the hotel, and no one was injured. Construction crews already are back working on the property, which will have approximately 150 guest rooms and 10,000 square feet of meeting space.

The 803-room Westin Copley Place Boston has completed a $13 million renovation of its function space. In the heart of the city's Back Bay neighborhood, the hotel offers 52,000 square feet of meeting space.

Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut announced last week a partnership with NXTevent, a full-service meeting and destination management company, to provide event support at the resort. The 825-room MGM Grand at Foxwoods, with 115,000 square feet of meeting space, a 4,000-seat theater and a 21,000-square-foot spa, will open in May.

The 622-room Indianapolis Marriott Downtown has completed a $9.5 million renovation of its 40,000 square feet of meeting space and nearly 120 guest rooms. The hotel is connected to the Indiana Convention Center.

Warwick International Hotels will manage a golf and spa resort in French Polynesia for Gregori International. The Warwick Moorea Golf and Spa Resort will have 154 rooms and villas and is expected to open in 2010. The resort's Jack Nicklaus Design golf course, the only 18-hole course on Moorea, already is open. Warwick runs three other resorts in the South Pacific, in Fiji and Vanuatu, and two more are under construction in Somoa and Tonga.

The 133-room Hilton Lake Placid, in New York's Adirondack Mountain region, will become the High Peaks Resort this summer, following a major redesign and rebranding. Notable changes to the property include two new restaurants, a redesigned lobby, an expanded fitness center, upgraded guest rooms, a new spa, a 24-hour complimentary business center and 10,000 square feet of revamped meeting space.

France's 318-room Le Meridien Nice is undergoing a $13 million renovation of its public spaces and 184 of its guest rooms, to be completed in May. The hotel has 10 meeting rooms.
