Starwood's two Los Cabos resorts, the 243-room Westin Resort & Spa and the 270-room Sheraton Hacienda del Mar, debuted new proprietary technology known as Virtual Planner. The platform, an updated version of the software launched by the Sheraton Maria Isabel and W in Mexico City in December, provides planners with the ability to tour the properties' meeting spaces virtually; arrange tables, platforms and centerpieces, and view the results using 3-D models. Once locations are chosen and arrangements designed, planners can select dates and submit the specs to the properties for an RFP. The platform requires only a Flash plug-in and can be found at or Virtual Planner should be in use at Starwood properties throughout Mexico by mid-2008 and at all stateside properties by the end of the year.

StarCite president and CEO Michael Boult is stepping down, effective March 18, and will remain a member of the board of directors. COO Keith Forshew will become StarCite's interim leader while a search is conducted for Boult's replacement. Boult has served as president and CEO since October 2005.
