The Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME), held in Melbourne, Australia, last week, attracted 850 exhibitors from 50 countries and 480 hosted buyers, both records. At the event, the government-run Tourism Australia announced the creation of a new program, Business Events Australia, which will provide marketing materials and services to meeting planners (businessevents.australia.com).

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events announced that this year's annual meeting, to be held in Miami in December, has sold 65 percent of its trade show booth space, following a space draw held earlier this month. More than 150 exhibitors received discount rates by booking early.
