Low-cost airline Virgin America has expanded its West Coast service with the launch of three daily flights between San Francisco International Airport and San Diego International Airport. By March 9, the number of flights will grow to five. The Burlingame, Calif.-based airline, which began service last August, also flies from San Francisco to Los Angeles; Las Vegas; Washington, D.C.; and New York City. Starting March 18, the carrier will fly to Seattle, as well. High-tech amenities offered on board include video touch-screens, which allow passengers to choose meals and access music, videogames and 25 films; the system also offers a seat-to-seat chat feature.
