VendorCheckin, a new hotel technology company, will launch a beta version of its software at a small number of Chicago-area hotels in January. The platform allows hotels to manage vendors working on-site by requiring registration through an online portal each time the vendor wishes to enter the property. Use of the platform would ensure the insurance requirements of both vendor and hotel are met, and require that the vendor officially agree to site rules and regulations. UPC-encoded badges also can be generated for delivery trucks. Following the beta-test period, VendorCheckin expects the first release to be available in April.
