A property that is not even open yet has announced its expansion. The Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas, opens next month with 402 suites; a 98,000-square-foot indoor entertainment center with a water park; several restaurants; a Starbucks; the Elements Spa featuring Aveda products; a tech center with Internet stations and movie and musical entertainment; the Iron Horse Fitness Center; about 10,000 square feet of meeting space and much more. Phase two will add 203 suites and increase the conference space. When the expansion opens in December 2008 the property will have 605 suites and 27,000 square feet of meeting space.

Renovations are scheduled to begin right after Thanksgiving at the 292-room Ogden (Utah) Marriott. Work on all guest rooms and the 16,000 square feet of meeting space will finish up by March.

A new resort hotel has been announced for Snowmass Village, Colo. The 236-room Viceroy Snowmass will be part of the $1 billion Snowmass Base Village development. The property, to open for the winter 2009-Õ10 season, will be LEED-certified and will offer a 7,000-square-foot spa; the amount of conference space has not been determined.

The 170-room Arcotel Camino will open in Stuttgart, Germany, next month. The property has six meeting rooms.  

A multimillion-dollar renovation has been completed at the Doubletree Guest Suites in Raleigh/Durham, N.C. The entire property was refurbished: the 203 guest rooms and more than 5,600 square feet of meeting space, as well as the exterior, lobby, business center and recreational areas. Each room has been spruced up with autumnal decor, as well as the Doubletree Sweet Dreams bed and MP3-ready alarm clocks.

The 250-room Clarion Hotel in Tampa, Fla., will be re-branded as the Crowne Plaza Tampa Westshore and undergo a $20 million renovation. The revamp will keep the property closed until early 2009.

The 203-room Conrad Miami has opened the Spa Chakra, an outpost of an Australian chain of luxury medi-spas. The facility features 10 treatment rooms and the Spa Chakra Fitness Club. The hotel offers 19,000 square of meeting space, including a new 1,000-square-foot event room called The Room at Level 25, which opens today.

Construction on a 239-suite Residence Inn by Marriott has begun in downtown San Diego, one block from the convention center. Set to debut in early 2009, the property will offer more than 8,000 square feet of retail space, a bar and lounge, a rooftop pool and 3,500 square feet of meeting space.

A 156-suite Embassy Suites in Valencia, Calif., has opened its doors. Features include an outdoor pool, a spa, a 4,456-square-foot ballroom, a 500-square-foot boardroom and a restaurant. Each suite is equipped with two, 37-inch flat-screen TVs, high-speed Internet access, a wet bar, a refrigerator and a microwave.
