The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians announced plans this week to build an $800 million resort and casino adjacent to the existing Viejas Casino in San Diego County. The project will feature a new casino, a hotel with approximately 600 rooms, a cabana and pool area, a movie theater and an undetermined amount of meeting space. The tribe will consult with local business and community leaders to finalize plans for the project. Completion is targeted for 2012.
