Carnival Cruise Lines will replace the
1,486-passenger Celebration, which sails from
Jacksonville, Fla., to Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas, with the
2,052-passenger Fascination. The new ship will sail
year-round on four- to five-day cruises starting Sept. 20, 2008.
The new five-day itinerary will include stops in Key West and the
Bahamas. In other Carnival news, the Fantasy fleet of
ships will receive upgrades to all pool and deck areas, with
thatched roofs, new tiling, faux palm trees and umbrellas. Also in
the plans are four-deck Carnival WaterWorks aqua parks. The
renovations to all eight Fantasy ships are expected to be
completed in 2009.
