The Dallas Business Journal is reporting the 1,840-room Adam's Mark Dallas will become a Sheraton within weeks. The property, with 240,000 square feet of meeting space, was among the last Adam's Mark properties to be sold off, purchased by the Oxford Lodging Advisory & Investment Group in May. A spokesperson for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide would not confirm the information.

John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts breaks ground on an Embassy Suites Hotel in Pleasant Grove, Utah, on Friday. The property, to open in spring 2009, will offer 300 suites and a 120,000-square-foot convention center.

The 197-room Four Points by Sheraton Carrollton opened this week in Carrollton, Md. The hotel features a full-service restaurant, Four Points by Sheraton's Best Brews program and 6,000 square feetĀ of meeting space.

The former Sheraton Suites of Lexington, Ky., is now the Doubletree Guest Suites Lexington. The 155-room hotel features a 2,300-square-foot ballroom and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space. A $6 million renovation will be completed in early 2008.

The Courtyard Columbia Downtown at USC Hotel, in Columbia, S.C., near the University of South Carolina, will celebrate its grand opening tomorrow. The 189-room hotel, which recently completed a $13 million renovation, has 5,788 square feet of meeting space.

The Tulalip Casino, in Tulalip, Wash., has announced that its new, 370-room Tulalip Resort will open in the spring of 2008. The resort will complement the existing casino with 30,000 square feet of space for meetings, including a 15,000-square-foot ballroom; two new restaurants; a day spa with 16 treatment rooms, and 7,000 additional feet of casino space.

InterContinental Hotels Group has added two Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts in Southern California to its portfolio. The 417-room Crowne Plaza San Diego, formerly the Red Lion Hanalei, offers a fitness center, an outdoor pool, three restaurants and a business center. An 8,000-square-foot ballroom recently was added, bringing the total meeting space to 28,000 square feet. The second property, the 252-room Crowne Plaza Fullerton, formerly a Four Points by Sheraton, offers 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant, a fitness center and a business center. Both properties were reflagged in May and completed renovations last month.

The 215-room Four Seasons Resort Lana'i at Manele Bay, Hawaii, has opened the 13,582-square-foot Hale Halawai ballroom and terrace. The $10 million facility offers ocean views, full audiovisual capabilities and movable glass panels that open the room for outdoor functions. The space accommodates 500 guests for a dinner and 600 for a reception.

Conrad Hotels & Resorts will break ground on the Conrad Buenos Aires in 2008, with an expected 2010 completion date. The 190-room luxury hotel will also house 350 Conrad Residences, along with 7,000 square feet of meeting space, a pool, a fitness center and a restaurant. The property is part of a larger development project in the stylish Puerto Madero district, near Ministro Pistarini International Airport, which will also include office and retail space and underground parking for 1,200 cars.

The 333-room Doubletree Hotel San Diego Downtown has completed an $11 million renovation to its guest rooms, restaurants and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. The property offers an outdoor pool, a dry sauna, a whirlpool, a fitness facility and a 24-hour business center.
