InterContinental Hotels Group has announced plans to open a Hotel Indigo in Athens, Ga. The boutique property will have 100 rooms and will incorporate a music theme, with a live music venue and a mural to be designed by University of Georgia art students.

A $5 million renovation has begun at the 272-room Renaissance Pere Marquette in New Orleans. The first phase, to be completed by September, will add a celebrity chef-led restaurant, while the second phase, to be finished by the end of the year, will update the jazz-themed hotel's lobby and bar; all of the carpet in the property's 6,500 square feet of meeting space also will be replaced.

Hilton Hotels Corp. has formed a partnership with restaurateur Donna Scala to develop a signature casual dining concept for Hilton's full-service hotel brands, including Hilton, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Conrad and Waldorf=Astoria. The first project from the partnership, the Urban Tavern at the Hilton San Francisco, will open in the first quarter of 2008.

InterContinental Hotels Group will open its first boutique hotel in Miami, the 122-room Hotel Indigo. Ground will be broken in the third quarter of this year, with completion scheduled for the first quarter of 2008. The six-story property will feature a fitness center, complimentary Internet access in all guest rooms and 2,500 square feet of meeting space.
