Just days after the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center hosted the 2007 BIO International Convention, which generated a record $31 million for the city of Boston, the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority announced last week that it has booked the American Urological Association's annual meeting in 2017, which will generate the most room nights of any single event in MCCA history. The meeting will require 48,000 hotel rooms over the course of the 10-day event. "This booking is a big accomplishment for our sales team," James E. Rooney, executive director of the MCCA, said in a statement. "It is a great indicator of how well Boston is performing in a very competitive industry."
