The International Association of
Exhibitions and Events has created a program to "identify, groom
and support future leaders of the exhibition and events industry."
Formed in partnership with ICAT Logistics, a global transport
logistics and expedited freight services company, the inaugural
Future Leaders Institute will be held Aug. 19-21 in Palm Beach
Gardens, Fla., and will educate participants about the industry,
strengthen their leadership and communication skills, provide
networking opportunities with prominent industry figures, and match
each participant with an industry mentor. Enrollment will be capped
at 30 people each year.
Destination Marketing Association International has opened a
European office in Brussels, Belgium. It is the association's first
permanent office outside of the United States. "We have two goals,"
said Michael D. Gehrisch, president and CEO of DMAI, in a
statement. "First, to truly globalize our membership with
representation outside of North America; and, more important, to
provide the resources that destination marketing professionals
around the world need to succeed."
