British Airways' cabin crews, members of the Transportation and General Workers Union, voted yesterday to strike in a dispute over sick leave, pay and staffing issues. At press time, no date had been set for action. In a statement posted on BA's website yesterday, the carrier said, "While this is a disappointing result, this does not mean that a strike is inevitable. We have arranged to meet T&G officials this week and we very much hope they will enter into meaningful discussion with us on the issues the union has raised."

On Jan. 11, American Airlines announced it would no longer sell international tickets or domestic first-class or business-class tickets through or its affiliated websites to customers purchasing travel from the United States. Domestic coach class tickets on American Airlines still will be available via Expedia, and American tickets already purchased from the site remain valid.
