The 244-room Westward Look Resort has been acquired by the American Property Management Corp. for $31 million. According to the Arizona Daily Star, the company is considering renovating the property, which offers 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

The Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Summerlin, Nev., eight miles north of Las Vegas, has debuted 416 new guest rooms for a total of 816. The property, which has 94,000 square feet of meeting space, also will add a 72-lane bowling center this summer.

Hilton Hotels Corp. will manage a new hotel in Visegrad, Hungary, a UNESCO site 30 miles north of Budapest. To open in 2009 on the River Danube, the 230-room Hilton Visegrad will have two restaurants, a lobby bar, a pool bar, a ballroom and five meeting rooms. The property, which will be close to the Lepence baths, noted for medicinal spring waters, also will have a spa. Hilton operates two other hotels in Hungary, both in Budapest.

Miami's Doral Golf Resort & Spa, a Marriott Resort, debuted 60,000 square feet of new meeting space yesterday. The $25 million project features the 24,000-square-foot Legends Ballroom and 12 meeting rooms. Overall, the property now has more than 110,000 square feet of event space.

The 793-room Westin Boston Waterfront, which opened last June and is attached to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, has been sold to DiamondRock Hospitality Co. for $330 million. The purchase includes development rights to adjacent land that has been zoned to allow an additional 325 hotel rooms, on which DiamondRock plans to construct either a separate Starwood-brand hotel or an expansion to the existing Westin. Also in the purchase package is a 100,000-square-foot building attached to the Westin, which DiamondRock intends to convert into retail, restaurant and meeting space.

Cherokee Nation officials said they will spend $125 million to expand the Cherokee Casino Resort in Catoosa, Okla. The upgrade will feature a new 200-room tower (for a total of 350 rooms), more convention space and a skyline restaurant. The project should break ground within the next three months and finish by 2008. The property currently offers 7,500 square feet of meeting space.

Plans for the Hope Lake Lodge, a ski resort complex at Greek Peak Mountain in Cortland, N.Y., south of Syracuse, were unveiled last week. The resort will include a 106-room Lexington-branded condo-hotel, an indoor water park and a spa. Ground will be broken on the hotel in March; future phases include an 18-hole championship golf course, a conference facility, and more lodging and dining.

Baha Mar Resorts Ltd., the group behind the Baha Mar megaresort in Nassau, the Bahamas, has signed a final joint-venture and management agreement with HarrahÕs Entertainment, allowing development to continue as planned. A similar agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide already has been signed. The 1,000-acre, 3,000-room complex, to be completed in 2011, will include most of Starwood's brands: a Sheraton, a Westin, a W hotel and a St. Regis, as well as a Caesars Palace. Also in the plans are a 100,000-square-foot casino and 200,000 square feet of meeting space.
