Tony Potter has been named CEO of CHI Ltd, the hotel management arm of the Malta-based Corinthia Group of companies. Before joining CHI, Potter served as group CEO for Millennium & Copthorne Hotels.

According to local reports, the 173-room Normandie Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has been sold to Caribbean Property Group, which also owns the Ritz-Carlton San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino. Plans are for the Normandie to be upgraded to a W Hotel by the end of the year. If the timeline proves accurate, the hotel will be the first W Hotel in Puerto Rico, followed by the 156-room W Vieques, to open in 2008.

The former Ivanhoe Plaza Hotel in Orlando is now the Sheraton Orlando Downtown. The 341-room property, which recently underwent a renovation, has 20,000 square feet of convention space, including 18 meeting rooms.
