The San Antonio Convention & Visitors Bureau plans to add two positions to its convention sales staff, bringing the total to 15 sales managers. This group also has been repositioned into two teams, one focusing on sales for the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, and the other focusing on non-convention center or "in-house" business. Executive director Scott White, who took over leadership of the SACVB on Oct. 2, said, "With the highly competitive meetings environment and the increase in short-term bookings, we wanted to move quickly to shore up an already outstanding sales staff with additional resources, and make sure the function was properly aligned to make our efforts as efficient and strategic as possible."
