The ranks of Canada's Visitor Rebate Program Coalition have grown with the addition of the Canadian Alliance of Business Travel, the leading group representing the corporate travel industry in Canada. The VRPC is fighting the government's plan to stop rebating the Goods and Services Tax and Harmonized Sales Tax to foreign visitors and business entities, including American meeting planners, convention producers and event attendees. "This proposed repeal of the visitor rebate program will have a significant impact on Canada's viability as a premier destination for business and convention travel," said Tanya Racz, president of the Canadian Alliance of Business Travel.
