Golden Tulip Hospitality, which franchises and manages more than 500 hotels in more than 45 countries, has launched a meetings and events website at www.goldentulip.com/meetings. The site features a search engine, special meetings offers and tools such as a currency converter, a space calculator and measurement converter.

The 308-room Hilton Arlington (Texas) has been purchased by its management company, Interstate Hotels & Resorts. The lobby and most of the guest rooms recently have undergone $5 million worth of renovations; an additional $2.3 million will be spent to complete the upgrade of the remaining rooms. The property offers 11,000 square feet of meeting space.

The 135-room Hotel Icon in Houston has been purchased by Lowe Enterprises Investors. Lowe's affiliate, Destination Hotels and Resorts, has taken over management of the property from Benchmark Hospitality.

About 10,000 square feet of new meeting space has been unveiled at the 335-room Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, on 1,300 acres in Lake Geneva, Wis. Among the new facilities are a 5,585-square-foot ballroom, two breakout rooms, four executive conference rooms and prefunction space. The additions bring the resortÕs total meeting space to 65,000 square feet.

Members of UNITE HERE Local 5 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa ratified a four-year contract last Friday for its 1,500 workers that includes wage increases of $2.40 an hour over four years for non-tipped employees and $1.20 an hour for tipped employees. UNITE HERE's unionized workers at the four Sheraton hotels in Waikiki also have voted to ratify a contract that will offer their 2,500 union members the same wage increases.

The 255-suite Platinum Hotel & Spa opens in Las Vegas today. The 17-story condo-hotel, just off the Las Vegas Strip, features the Restaurant at Platinum; a spa called WELL; and Misora, a rooftop terrace designed for private events.

The NH Kensington has opened in London. The property has 121 guest rooms, including eight suites and 14 adjoining apartments available for long- and short-term stays, plus two meeting rooms.

The 93-room CuisinArt Resort & Spa in Anguilla has announced a $7 million, 19,000-square-foot expansion to its Venus Spa, to open in March 2008. The new spa, which will be triple the size of the current facility, will include a thalasso pool, areas for hydrotherapy, a new relaxation room, an expanded fitness center and more treatment rooms.

SuperClubs, the all-inclusive resort brand, has ended its management contract with the 733-room Breezes Punta Cana Resort, Spa & Casino. The resort is now the Barcelo Punta Cana. On another note, SuperClubs has opened its second Sonesta-branded property in Brazil, the 142-room Sonesta Brasilia
