A proposal to build a $410 million convention center and condominium hotel complex along the Nevada border in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., is clearing bureaucratic hurdles. The proposal calls for a convention center with 50,000 square feet of meeting and exhibit space, a 4,400-seat arena, two condo-hotels with a total of up to 386 units, and 57,000 square feet of retail space. The South Tahoe Redevelopment Agency signed a development agreement with the Lake Tahoe Development Company on July 11; the project is set to break ground May 2007.
