The Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority announced on Feb. 23 that its new president and CEO would be Ellen Oppenheim, who currently serves as deputy chief for neighborhood services for the City of San Diego. Previous roles include director of conventions, cultural and visitors, for the City of San Jose, Calif., and associate dean of students at Stanford University in Palo Alto, near San Francisco. The search for a new president began last September, when previous president Jeff Beckelman left to head up the Palm Springs Desert (Calif.) Resorts Convention & Visitors Authority.
