Global Events Partners released the results of a survey of 38 of its GEP Partner DMCs worldwide on predicted business in 2006. Some central findings: More than 80 percent of respondents believe corporate business will increase in 2006; more than 90 percent predict meeting planners will spend more money on events in 2006; and about two-thirds expected revenue from events with more than 200 attendees to increase. Commonly cited hot destinations for 2006 are Las Vegas, Orlando, Eastern Europe and China. Other destinations cited were San Diego, Miami, Chicago, France, the United Kingdom and the South Pacific. Fewer than 10 percent of DMCs considered New York City and San Francisco to be hot for 2006.
