Dallas officials will break ground Friday on the new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, to be completed in 2009. Two of the facilities in the project are the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House and the 600-seat Charles and Dee Wyly Theatre. Another component of the complex, the City Performance Hall, will have two stages, a "black box" theater with flexible seating for 100 to 400 and a 750-seat chamber music hall. Of the $275 million slated for the project, more than $250 million is in private funds.
