The Fitzpatrick Hotel Group will build a 250-room hotel in lower Midtown Manhattan. The hotel, scheduled to open in 2009, will be part of a $500 million, mixed-use development. Included in the plans are a 7,000-square-foot outdoor pool deck and terrace.

Carlson Hotels Worldwide announced yesterday the acquisition of the 253-room L'Habitation de Lonvilliers, formerly a Le MEridien property, in French St. Martin. The hotel will close for most of 2006 for renovations, to reopen in time for the end-of-year holidays as a Radisson Resort and Spa, complete with new free-form pools, a spa and a 6,000-square-foot ballroom. The purchase plus the renovation is estimated to cost $60 million.
