Early in 2006, Hilton International will assume management of two properties in Central America: the 120-room Hilton Princess San Pedro Sula, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and the 104-room Hilton Princess Managua in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua. Both properties offer meeting space.

An expansion of the spa at the 337-room Coeur d'Alene Resort in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, has begun. When opened in the spring, the facility will offer 21 treatment rooms and a couples massage room. The Spa at Coeur d'Alene will continue to feature natural elements found in the Northwest.

Great Wolf Resorts plans to build a 400-suite resort in Grapevine, Texas, across from the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center. The family-themed property will offer an 80,000-square-foot indoor entertainment area featuring a waterpark and an Aveda spa. Construction will begin in the spring, with the property opening in fall 2007. The Grapevine City Council was expected to approve the project last night. "The Grapevine elected leadership has pursued the Great Wolf Lodge project vigorously," said a spokesperson for the CVB.

Le Meridien's flag will rise in Bridgetown, Barbados, in 2010 at the 200-room Le Meridien Barbados. The property will feature a marina, retail space, a rooftop bar, a maritime museum and banquet space for 500.

Rancho Palos Verdes, a residential community 15 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, will be home to the $320 million Terranea Resort by winter 2008. Lowe Enterprises is building the 400-room, 102-acre property, which will offer 60,000 square feet of meeting space, a spa, two tennis courts, 6,000 square feet of retail space and several restaurants.

Outrigger Hotels & Resorts has signed an interim consulting agreement with Honolulu's Ala Moana Hotel. Outrigger will advise the property on operations, management and marketing, with the intention of negotiating a long-term management contract.

Rocco Forte Hotels has announced the name of its new Munich property, which will open in spring 2007. The Hotel Ludwig will have 160 guest rooms, a restaurant with two private dining rooms, a ballroom, eight meeting rooms and a fitness center.
