The Ecstasy and the Sensation, the two Carnival Cruise Lines' ships that were docked in Galveston last week as part of the Hurricane Katrina relief effort, are now in New Orleans where they are expected to house relief workers, according to a spokesperson for the line. A third ship, the Holiday, is in Mobile, Ala.; according to Carnival, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is looking into how to best use the ship there. The three ships were chartered for six months to the Military Sealift Command on behalf of FEMA.

The Delta Queen Steamboat Co. has canceled cruises on its American Queen vessel through March 6. The ship was scheduled to operate three- and four-day cruises from New Orleans, coupled with overnight stays in the city. The company is working with various government authorities to make the American Queen available in the overall relief efforts for the Gulf Coast region.
