The director of the Dayton (Ohio)
Convention Center resigned last week after the city conducted an
audit to investigate allegations of misuse of property and funds at
the convention center. Charles Kemp, who had been the center's
director since May 2001, left "to concentrate on personal issues
and pursue other career opportunities," according to a city press
release. Lois Greene has been named interim director. Dayton city
manager Jim Dinneen, who placed Kemp on paid administrative leave
two weeks ago and who announced Kemp's resignation, did not return
calls seeking comment.
