Meeting Professionals International's
World Education Congress, which wrapped up yesterday in Miami, was
the second largest event in the association's history, in spite of
the threat from Hurricane Dennis. The 3,417 registrants included
1,139 planners and 1,910 suppliers. MPI's largest event was the
2001 WEC, held in Las Vegas.
The National Child Care Association, a trade association for
childhood educators and caregivers, has selected SmithBucklin as a
management firm. The NCCA will relocate its headquarters from
Conyers, Ga., to Washington, D.C. "We wanted an association
management company with a strong presence in Washington, D.C., so
we could enhance our relationships with policy leaders in the
government and the advocacy community," said Jim Loving, NCCA
president. "We know SmithBucklin will fulfill these needs."
