The Professional Convention Management Association has developed
a new educational framework called "Principles of Professional
Performance," the organization announced last week. Based on a
member survey conducted earlier this year, the new guidelines
divide planner knowledge into six main categories (planning,
people, professionalism, programming, procedures and production),
each with its own set of sub-categories. Dr. Glen Ramsbourg, senior
director of education for PCMA, says the new educational outline
will help PCMA's program coordinators to create balanced,
meaningful programs.
