The 427-room Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica, closed April 27 to repair damage sustained from heavy rains. The resort will reopen to the public June 6.

A $1 million renovation has been completed at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Antietam Creek in Hagerstown, Md. Work included a refurbishment of the property's 210 guest rooms and improvements to the lobby and gardens. The hotel has 30,000 square feet of meeting space.

Emirates Airlines has announced plans for a $218 million luxury hotel in Dubai. To open in 2008, the 672-room property will offer a 25,000-square-foot health club and 15 restaurants. The amount of meeting space it will have has yet to be determined.

The 112-room Chamberlain hotel opened in West Hollywood, Calif., Monday. The latest project from the Kor Hotel Group, which specializes in fashion-forward boutique hotels, the Sunset Strip property has a rooftop pool, a new American bistro and a 496-square-foot meeting room.

Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts is extending its Le Meridien Meetings Plus Program through Dec. 31. The program, designed for group and incentive business and available at the chain's more than 130 properties, guarantees a response to RFPs within 24 hours, assigns a dedicated meetings director to the event, gives meeting planner rewards and guarantees a competitive group rate.

Millennium Hotels & Resorts will manage a new 350-room hotel and residence in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. The property, scheduled to open in late 2006/early 2007, will have a conference center that will accommodate 1,000 attendees.

The 194-room Crowne Plaza Englewood (N.J.) opened last week after a $3 million renovation and reflagging of the Radisson Englewood. The hotel has 5,000 square feet of meeting space, and is owned and managed by Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc.
