IMEX, the Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings & Events, was held April 19-21 in Frankfurt, Germany. According to IMEX chairman Ray Bloom, 3,000 hosted meeting and incentive planners attended the three-year-old show, which featured 3,000 exhibiting firms from 140 countries. Last year, 2,800 hosted buyers attended, and 2,500 firms exhibited at the show. This year also marked IMEX's move into a larger space, Hall 8, at Messe Frankfurt, to accommodate all exhibitors on one floor.

A special meeting of the Toy Industry Association board determined that the American International Fall Toy Show will remain in New York City, despite the fact that the eventÕs venue, the International Toy Center, was sold earlier this year. ÒOur responsibility to our members and the entire toy industry is to constantly explore the most effective and efficient venues,Ó said Arnie Rubin, chairman of the TIA. As for the larger February American International Toy Fair, usually held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, the TIA board will decide between New York, Atlanta and Orlando as host cities for the 2007 show and beyond.
