Amtrak suspended operation of the Acela Express trains on Friday, when cracks were found in the brake rotor spokes. One of the trains ran the route between Boston and Washington, D.C., on Monday but has now been stopped, as well. While Amtrak works out how and whether to fix the Acela trains, Metroliner and regional trains are running most of the schedule between Washington and New York, and regional trains are operating between New York and Boston.
