On Friday, the Transportation Security Administration announced David M. Stone, who has headed TSA since December 2003, is leaving his job. "Admiral Stone has informed [Department of Homeland Security] Secretary Chertoff of his intention to step down from TSA and has agreed to the Department's request to remain until June to assist with the transition of a successor," said a TSA spokesperson. Stone is the third chief of the airline security agency to depart since the TSA's creation in late 2001. No reason was given for his departure.
