The Fontainebleau Hilton Resort in Miami Beach will no longer be a Hilton as of May 13. New owners Turnberry Associates, who will finalize a deal to buy the 920-room resort on March 11, will manage the property themselves. For two years, Turnberry has been involved in the construction of the hotel's new 462-room tower, which opened last month, and a third hotel tower, which will open early in 2007 and lift the property's total room count above 1,600. The company also will soon begin a $150-$200 million, two-year renovation of the existing guest rooms and meeting space, as well as add a spa, signature restaurants and Las Vegas-style entertainment venues.

Nikko Hotels International has taken over the management of three hotels in Japan. The 257-room Sun Garden Himeji will now be called the Nikko Himeji, the 121-room Sun Garden Hitachi becomes the Nikko Hitachi and the 235-room Mitsui Garden Hotel Nagano now is named JAL City Nagano. All three hotels will undergo minor renovations.

Singapore stopped taking bids for its proposed new casino-resort at midnight on Feb. 28. Bids are expected to be in the range of $2 billion, and interested parties include Las Vegas' MGM-Mirage, Harrah's Entertainment, Wynn Resorts and South Africa's Sun International, among others. Singapore's government will choose the developer in mid-April.

The 133-room Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire has opened in Dogmersfield, U.K., about an hour from London. The property, built on the site of an 11 th-century estate, has five meeting rooms. A spa, which will have 15 treatment rooms, opens in May.

The 142-suite Embassy Suites-Tucson Broadway in Tucson has completed a $2.5 million renovation. The property offers 1,800 square feet of meeting space.

Hilton International has sold its interest in the 112-room Jalousie Hilton Resort and Spa on St. Lucia. HiltonÕs eight-year management of the property will end May 31. SunSwept Resorts plans to convert the resort to a BodyHoliday , becoming a sister property to the BodyHoliday at LeSport, another popular destination spa in St. Lucia.
