Meeting Professionals International continues to make progress with its Career Pathways project, which eventually will offer career evaluation tools and online education to help members of all levels grow professionally. During the organization's Professional Education Congress, which attracted 2,733 attendees to San Diego this week, focus groups were held to further the design of the program's elements. A pilot launch of Career Pathways is scheduled for July in Miami during the World Education Congress, followed by a soft launch in October and the official unveiling next January at the PEC in Charlotte, N.C. One element of the project will be a relaunching of MPI's website as a more personalized portal for industry professionals. "Career Pathways will provide an industrywide solution for career development to individuals in the meeting planning profession," said Marsha Flanagan, vice president of professional development for MPI.
