The American Society of Association
Executives and allied Center for Association Leadership are working
with The Brand Consultancy to redefine their identity. "Our goal at
ASAE and The Center is to develop a brand that goes beyond a
logo -- one that truly drives our vision and business strategies,"
said ASAE president and CEO John H. Graham IV, CAE. "The merger
this past year necessitates the exercise." The first phase of the
branding initiative, which will involve staff and member input,
should be complete by spring of this year.
The Professional Convention Management
Association has hired David LaBarre as director of the PCMA
Education Foundation. LaBarre formerly was the president of the
Wally Foundation, which provides financial assistance to families
affected by breast cancer.
A position paper on procurement is now
available at Meeting Professionals International's website
(www.mpiweb.org/village/ccoe/ccoe.asp). The report, compiled by the
organization's Global Corporate Circle of Excellence, talks about
such strategies as how planners and suppliers can benefit from
forming relationships with procurement departments.
