The 241-room Brown Palace Hotel in Denver has completed a $4 million restoration. All rooms received new beds, TVs and other furnishings. Public and guest-room bathrooms are currently being upgraded, to finish up by the end of 2005.

The 210-room Raintree Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Longmont, Colo., northeast of Boulder, becomes the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center Longmont-Boulder on Nov. 15. The property has a 30,000-square-foot conference center. A $2.5 million renovation to the guest rooms, meeting space and public areas has been completed.

Omni Hotels has joined Expedia Corporate Travel's Corporate Rate program, which gives business travelers access to corporate rates at member hotels. The program also allows access to special services, including upgrades and customized business amenities.

San Francisco's branch of hotel workers' union Unite HERE continued to dispatch picketers to nonlocal hotels on Sunday, sending 20 members to the Hyatt Regency Monterey. The satellite picketing, union representatives say, was in retribution for San Francisco's Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency hotels' continued lock-out of union employees.

The El Encanto Hotel and Garden Villas in Santa Barbara, Calif., has been bought by Orient-Express Hotels, with plans for a $10 million overhaul to be unveiled by spring 2006. The 88-room hotel will remain open throughout the construction, which will include upgrades to the property's three meeting rooms, the creation of a spa and fitness center, and the addition of five cottages.
