The funding package for Boston's $230 million Battery Wharf luxury hotel and residences was completed yesterday after considerable delays. With the 150-room Regent Boston at Battery Wharf hotel as its centerpiece, the waterside project is expected to open in 2007.

The Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa last Friday began hosting guests in 250 of the resort's 521 rooms. The hotel, which opens fully in January, offers 36,000 square feet of meeting space, including the largest ballroom on the Kona Coast. Formerly the site of the Kona Surf Hotel, the Big Island property has been undergoing a $70 million renovation.

Luxe Worldwide Hotels, which represents independently owned and operated hotels, has added the two Canyon Ranch resorts (in Tucson, Ariz., and Lenox, Mass.) to its portfolio.

An $8 million renovation begins later this month at the Richardson Hotel in Richardson, Texas, just outside Dallas. The 342-room property, part of the Destination Hotels and Resorts group, with more than 13,000 square feet of meeting space, will undergo a complete interior redesign.

The 222-room Adam's Mark Clearwater Beach in Clearwater Beach, Fla., closed Oct. 3 for renovations. Hurricane damage from Hurricane Ivan also will be repaired. Hotel officials hope to reopen by the end of the year.

The 1,019-room Cumberland, London, reopened last Friday following a $180 million renovation. The property, with 26 meeting rooms, is now part of Thistle Hotels.
